• If someone raises an issue, ask them a question about what they have raised so they know you have heard and are listening.
• Set a time for private discussion.
• Don't second guess the other person
• Don't reinterpret what they are saying, let them have their own point.
• If it's confrontational tell them you need time to digest the information.
• Standing up to a bully. In a public space say, Why are you bullying me? Why does it give you satisfaction to keep bullying me? Please leave me in peace. If it carries on the teacher must confront the bully in front of the class, and the class must discuss it.
