Don't abuse Google, and don't forget they are a private company

There are those of us that approve of the death penalty for use as a deterrent to the abuse that conscienceless people perpetrate against those who are innocent, AND that make people suspicious of those of us just trying to work hard and get the job done efficiently, while maintaining integrity.

An argument can be made to liken Google to the Death Penalty. If you try and abuse the search engine optimisation process, by hiding links on your page, using noscript tags or whatever, Google will ban your URL off its search engine. Your URL is like your physical body ~ killing your URL is killing your webpresence ~ death.

In The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey explains this principle ~ you set up a clear outline of what behaviour will get approval (rewards) and then you knows exactly when (the other) has fallen short. Google says ~ have great information on your site, write articles, be informative, be interesting, be fun; then people will link to you; then Google will high rank you. People who use underhand techniques to high rank will know immediately when they haven't bothered to put in the work.

I say, kill them. I work hard finding cute things for my site and linking to other people and writing efficient reviews, why should others who do nothing but cheat get rewards. Thanks for making me number two Google.

Poem: I have biracial hair by Zora Howard

See the performance on YouTube

I have bi-racial hair
Pantene Pro-V waves on the top
Easy to style, comb, rock-
Until-I encounter my naps,
I’m not talking about those-cute detangle with the spray naps.
I’m talking about those, slave naps, like,
No comb, brush, or man can handle the kind of naps I got- like,
No way you are touching my hair-naps like
Back 10 feet up, or we can dance naps
Those naps like-
I have bi-racial hair,
Those smooth and silk rafts hanging all through my mane,
Until you get to the back, and encounter the jungle, in which you can find Tarzan and Jane.
In the front you forget and relax in the pleasure,
Until you get to the back and remember pain
Baby hair slicked back with that good 4 dollar pomade,
That goes with roots and tangles,
Soaked with that same olive oil; mixed with that spaghetti sauce momade.
I have bi-racial hair,
Combs run freely through my fine breezy, just to the part, the most you can make,
Until it gets to the back and
I have bi-raci…

About Bullying

This sentence, my only interaction on this whatsapp group,  a language classes whatsapp group, about a picture of hearts with twee words about love lasting forever... nothing to do with language.... "Can I ask that we don't post bits and pieces of not-language-learning things. It eats up my bandwidth." This is a clear statement of a boundary suggestion, with a reason. A suggestion phrased as a question. I was told I was a bully. I said to the person who called me a bully... NOT the twee pic poster, that she should investigate what bullying is, politely. And left the group.

I realize people don't have any real idea what bullying is. So I prepared this piece below.

Asserting your point of view is not bullying. Assertiveness does not mean you will get what you want. It simply helps each party express their desires with an INTENT toward accomplishing a specific goal.

Reverse bullying. The passive aggressive p…
